Blog Got You Bogged Down? 5 Reasons to Hire a Ghost Writer
Many small business owners agree that blogging is great for business. After all, a well-written, properly targeted blog can:
- be launched and maintained for little to no expense
- be used to position yourself as a credible expert in your industry
- attract and convert new leads
- attract the attention of referral partners
- keep clients and prospects engaged
- help keep you on top of mind
Nevertheless, many entrepreneurs struggle with launching and maintaining a blog. If your blog has got you bogged down, consider hiring a ghost writer for any or all of these reasons:
1) Free Up Your Time – Would you rather just focus on your business? Hiring a ghost writer for your blog will free up some time so you can use your talents more effectively elsewhere.
2) You’re a bad writer – Scratch that. You may not be a bad writer, but you may not be a great writer either. Perhaps you don’t need a ghost writer to take over your blog from start to finish; maybe you just need someone to proofread and edit your content before publishing. A good editor can help you fix your grammar and spelling, be more concise, and better organize your thoughts.
3) Coming Up With New Ideas Can Be Exhausting – Ideally, you should try updating your blog with fresh content once a week. In order to keep coming up with relevant topics, you need to be clued into your industry, monitoring the mindsets of your readers, watching trends… it’s an ongoing process. Some people are better at this than others. Sometimes you just don’t have the time. Sometimes you need to delegate. Again, you may not need a ghost writer to handle all your blog responsibilities… maybe you just need someone to research and brainstorm ideas with you.
4) Manage Publishing and Social Media – Once your blog is written and published, you’re going to want to generate interest and attract new followers. This means posting on various social media, publishing an e-newsletter, monitoring and responding to comments, talking about your blog at networking events, maintaining a subscriber list, and anything else that will help get the word out. Remember, when it comes to blogging, you can’t rely on a “if you build it, they will come” mentality; someone has to constantly be plugging your blog and getting more eyeballs on it.
5) Writing is Painful – It’s true. Seriously. That’s why so many writers are alcoholics.

Great post. I was checking continuously this blog and I’m
impressed! Very useful info specially the
last part 🙂 I care for such information a lot. I was seeking
this particular information for a very long time.
Thank you and good luck.
Witth havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any problems of
plagorism or copyright infringement? My blog has a lot of unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it
seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without
my authorization. Do you know any methods to help protect against content from being ripped off?
I’d certainly appreciate it.
Hi Gwendolyn, thanks for posting here. This is an excellent question. For the most part, I mostly focus on what I’m doing and not what others are up to, as that’s just my personality and it saves me from a lot of unwelcome drama. HOWEVER, someone stealing your hard work is undoubtedly frustrating, not only on a personal/artistic level, but also it could mean a loss of income or compensation for you. If you see your property posted without your consent, I would start with an “innocent” but tactful private message to the offender. Don’t jump to conclusions right away because – believe it or not – some people are just plain ignorant when it comes to sharing stuff on the Internet and giving credit. If you aren’t already doing so, consider putting a blatant message on your blog/website that says you’re happy to share but please credit XYZ and link back. Private message them and say, they might not realize it but they’ve taken your original content and you would either like credit on their site with a link back (which would actually help you grow your audience and improve your website’s SEO) or if you prefer, they take it down. Give them a reasonable time limit to respond. If they don’t respond (or don’t respond favorably), you can threaten legal intervention. As I said earlier, I HATE drama (waste of energy), but if you feel like fighting, you can post a screen capture on the offender’s wall or platform so that their followers can see that you are the originator of the content that they are interested in. As much as humanly possible, be gracious and professional when doing this because the main objective here is not to discredit the person using your work, but more importantly to lure some of their audience to your platform, because they are presumably already interested in you, they just don’t know where to find you. In other words, try to turn this negative event into a positive, it could actually help you grow your audience. Also – I know it’s hard, but on some level try to recognize that your work is so good, people believe it’s worth stealing. Hope this helps. Don’t be surprised if I “steal” your question for a blog post in the near future, it’s a darn good topic 😉
