[VIDEO] How To Keep Someone’s Attention On Your Blog
Today, I want to talk about how to get people to read your blog when most people don’t really have great attention spans.
It’s actually been said that people’s attention spans these days on the internet is dwindling to less than seven or eight seconds – which is actually less than the attention span of a goldfish.
(This has been proven scientifically by goldfish scientists on the Internet.)
So, how do you get someone to read your entire blog if they have the attention span of a goldfish or less?
Well, there’s a couple of tactics you can use.
Number one, you want to provide value. That’s the most obvious thing you can do. As long as you are helping someone, helping your reader, they are going to want to stick around and read more. So, that’s first and foremost.
Number two, don’t bury your lead. Get to the point as soon as you can, as soon as possible.
Write in really short sentences. Write in really short paragraphs. Have lots of white space.
Make sure you use a lot of pictures and use quality photos. Use really attractive, relevant photographs to break up the space in your blog and to make your blog seem more readable. If your blog looks nice with pretty pictures, people are going to want to stick around and read longer. It’s the psychological effect of just looking very pretty.
You don’t have to worry about taking the pictures yourself or paying a lot of money for stock photography. There are tons of websites where you can get beautiful photos for either free or for very little money.
Here’s a link where you’ll find lots of free stock photography.
So, that’s it for this week. I hope you find that useful.
