Do You Rely On Social Media TOO MUCH?
How heavily do you rely on social media when it comes to promoting your business?
If your social media efforts aren’t getting you the results you want, it’s time to take a step back.
Ask yourself, what are you doing to SUPPORT your social media promotion?
Is social media your star player, or is it the only player on your online marketing team?
If it’s your only player, you might be in trouble. Because this is a team sport.
For instance, let’s say you create wonderful content and you post it on social media with the objective to get people to learn more about you, and ideally want to buy your product or service.
So then, your next logical move would be to lead people from social media to your website or landing page.
But what if your website isn’t very good?
What if your landing page isn’t very convincing?
What if your shopping cart doesn’t work properly?
You need to support your social media with a great landing page or a website.
Otherwise, you run the very serious risk of dropping the ball and losing a potential customer.
Let’s take it step further… let’s say you get someone to click from your social media content to your website. Hopefully, they’ll stay for a while and check out your business.
Will they make a purchase or reach out to you right away?
Probably not – they might need to visit your site a few times before they make a commitment. How will you get them to come back?
Ideally, you would get their email address so you can check in on them, stay in touch with them, and follow up with them to see if you can be of service to them.
But, how would you do that? People don’t just give out their email address for no reason.
In this case, it might be really helpful for you to have a lead magnet offered on your website, in exchange for a visitor’s email address.
A lead magnet is a downloadable e-book, video, coupon, PDF, or some kind of freebie that is going to entice a follower who liked your content, came to your website, and wants to learn more about you. A lead magnet is designed to grow your email contact list with a very specific audience that you know will be interested in your product or service.
Social media is a great way to promote your business, but make sure you’re not solely relying on it.
Make sure you’ve also got a killer website, you’ve got a targeted email list going, you’ve got a lead magnet, and great landing pages that work effectively.
All these elements work together to give your online business presence a big push.
